Creative with space
Belgium has few open spaces and the building demand is getting increasingly complex. All the needs and requirements of the client must be combined into one plan and building concept. In this, the public support, the safety and the reliability of the concept are obviously of great importance. This context challenges the Grontmij project leaders to collaborate intensely with governments, clients, contractors and advisors from the entire building chain. It is the only way to create a creative, sustainable planning process that leads to a quality ad profitable building concept.

Everything under one roof
Grontmij’s project leader steps in during various stages to realise the building in collaboration with architect, contractor, installer and manager. The ‘transfer principle’ is disappearing; all disciplines are working together in consultation under one roof. This requires a more coherent way of reasoning and a more coordinating role of the project leader.

Sustainable building
Sustainable planning and building are getting increasing important. During the planning and development of a city, neighbourhood or project, Grontmij does not just take into account the key factors of Man, Environment and Mobility, but also economical energy use. A building must have a long lifespan, be able to change function(s), and be sustainable with regards to maintenance and energy use. From the start, choices have to be made that assure optimal sustainability, without compromising the demands and requirements of the client.
