When designing a school building, the educational vision plays an important role. Do you want to integrate learning areas, to what degree do students work independently, are there special education programs? In addition, a school building can have various functions; for example, parents courses, extramural support and social work. All these concepts and functions require flexible building. There is not one concept for a multifunctional accommodation. In a multifunctional accommodation, there are various functions, in which the parties collaborate and share the user spaces. They collaborate by tuning activities to one another, by developing new activities and by sharing responsibilities for the operational management. Ease of use
Our goal is a building that is sustainable, low on maintenance, functional, an educational environment in which man is central. In this perspective, Grontmij is doing a project for the renovation and the efficient management of the maintenance of 150 school buildings in Flanders. Sustainability and energy performance are the crucial elements in this project.
