The Grontmij network in Belgium
Grontmij employs a workforce of 750 employees in Belgium. The company’s national network comprises three key players: Grontmij, Libost-Groep and Grontmij Industry, with twelve branches between them.
The Belgian operations, with registered office in Zaventem, are managed by CEO and country manager, Jan Bosschem, with the support of our staff departments, specialized in Finance, HR, Quality, Communication, IT and Legal Affairs. Gert Dral chairs the Board of Directors. The legal structure of our government-oriented activities reflects Belgian state structure.
The organizational structure of Grontmij and Libost Group
Our management structure is based on a three-dimensional development model:
- An efficient and effective development of the operational structures
- A professional and strategically commercial market approach
- A forward-looking and innovative development combined with knowledge and experience sharing
The operational management team’s key task is to deliver qualitative and innovative projects to our customers. In order to achieve this, they need to manage our employees in our various branches in a hierarchical and situational manner. They ensure that the right employee makes his or her contribution at the right time, under a Project Manager's supervision. The operational management team motivates and coaches our employees.
Our commercial activities are extremely professional and are designed to find out more about our customer’s expectations. The team’s assignment is to offer the right combination of knowledge and experience. The goal of our commercial managers and account managers is to develop a strong, long-term relation with each customer. To this end, clear agreements have been made and geographic and thematic responsibilities laid down. Our commercial managers and account managers also try to gauge our customers' satisfaction.
Knowledge sharing and development make up the cornerstone of our existence. Our field coordinators, who each are responsible for a number of disciplines, encourage the exchange of knowledge across the borders of offices, regions and countries. Moreover, their task is to develop new and sustainable concepts, methods and techniques based on a future-oriented vision.
Grontmij is a multi-disciplinary consultancy and engineering firm, specializing in environment, water, energy, spatial planning, public space, buildings, industry, mobility, infrastructure and geo-data. Our experts provide added value as regards advice, research, design, engineering, execution and the management of pluridisciplinary projects, for our business and governmental customers.
The phased takeover of Ingenieursbureau Libost-Groep stated in June 2008 with the transfer of 55% of the shares. Grontmij and Libost-Groep operate in the same markets and have collaborated on several projects, including a number of important PPP projects. By 2013 Grontmij is expected to have acquired 100% of the shares, after which Grontmij Vlaanderen and Libost-Groep will merge.
Grontmij Industry
Our industrial projects have been grouped under one umbrella, Grontmij Industry, in order to better serve our Belgian customers. Core tasks include consultancy, project management, engineering, procurement and construction management.
