Our policy studies formulate overall spatial planning visions or development perspectives on a strategic level. This is done based on the results of scientific research and vision creation. As a result, we can  prepare sound policy guidelines and support policy-makers.

The areas of application are quite varied. For example, there are policy plans for specific space-demanding activities, location studies and preliminary studies for a review of the Regional Structure Plan Flanders. In addition, we conduct feasibility studies (analysis of and advice on spatial planning and economical development opportunities) and strategic impact analyses: environmental impact studies in the planning phase, landscape research and life quality studies.

Grontmij has extensive experience with regards to strategic policy support in Flanders, and this with regards to spatial development and infrastructure policy, as well as regional-economic development and port policy.
