Sustainable energy production was never as current a topic as it is today. Grontmij offers energy companies, industries and governments possibilities to generate energy in a sustainable way. International experience
Grontmij has broad international expertise in developing efficient, possibly fossil, energy plants and producing renewable energy. In this field, we have a lot of references, both large-scale energy plants (traditionally powered or STEG plants) and projects of local energy production by the total energy principle (TEP) and renewable energy sources. With (pre-) feasibility studies and simulations, we show you which option is most interesting.

Renewable energy
Grontmij has extensive experience in setting up and supporting projects related to sustainable and renewable energy, and this from a wide spectrum of ‘endless’ sources, such as wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy (thermal conversion and biogas valorisation), geothermal energy and hydro-electric energy. Grontmij has also earned its place in energetic valorisation of waste materials. Grontmij is your partner with regards to setting up both small-scale and large-scale decentralised green energy and energy buffering systems, like heat-cold storage. Thereby, the required attention is given to integration within the environment, such as thermal connection with ‘consumer’s or network connections for green power.

Process management
In addition to technical support in design and realisation, Grontmij contributes the creation of public support, the acquisition of the required licenses and the elaboration of an Environmental Impact Assessment report (EIA). We also handle subsidy applications. For certain projects, Grontmij looks for the optimal location from a social and economic perspective, taking into account the impact on environment, mobility, landscape…
