Quickscan at Vopak: clear recommendations lead to a clear approach
Vopak is the global leader in the independent storage and transportation of fluid oil products, chemicals, vegetable oils and liquefied gases. Vopak has over 70 terminals in 30 countries with specialised facilities. Vopak uses these terminals to store its clients' products for a length of time under conditions which are often highly specific.
Vopak has four chemical storage terminals in the Port of Antwerp. The rapid growth as well as start-up and integration of new terminals created a great need among management and employees for clarity regarding the handling of Management of Change and managing technical information and documentation.
Vopak commissioned Grontmij to perform a Quickscan which led to some clear recommendations. During the initial phase, Grontmij scrutinised the information Vopak provided before interviewing several employees from every division concerned. Because Grontmij has many years of experience in Asset Information Management, we soon cut to the core of the problem. Finally, Vopak received a report with a complete overview of potential shortcomings and recommendations.
