AIM Services for Electrabel
Grontmij Industry has been commissioned to provide Asset Information Management (AIM) services to Electrabel. A mixed AIM team will get to work for the new, yet-to-be-commissioned Electrabel Knippegroen power station in the Ghent port area.
The name of the station is derived from its location near the Sint-Kruis-Winkel traffic lights, on the ArcelorMittal site. This thermal power station's has a capacity of 300 MW and it will convert the steel giant's furnace gas into electricity. Until now, this took place in the Rodenhuize power station, but two of the three groups there are at the end of their life cycles.
The Knippegroen station will be operational as of April 2010 and will be handed over to Electrabel at that time. In preparation, there are plenty of AIM- activities on the schedule for Grontmij Industry. The commission focuses on processing the vendor handover information into a standard structure in SAP for Operations & Maintenance services. In real terms, this means all information provided by the suppliers - such as spare part information and information for preventive inspections - has to be validated and converted into operational information.
